Guess what True Value, I will never return to your store. Tractor supply had the heavy duty container I was looking for AND they didn't treat me like I was an unwanted bloomin idiot!

As I entered the store today in Oakwood, I was greeted by the cashier. The staff was very helpful and informative about the product I was looking for. Michaela, the cashier had a welcoming smile, great attitude, and made me feel welcomed. Definitely has the sense of community in the store. I would highly recommend the Oakwood store!!!!

The folks here were very knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection of Stihl products. I think they steered me in the right direction and sold me just what I needed.

One of the worst experiences ever with a retailer! Thieves in retailer clothing! Charged $43 dollar shop fee and did nothing to even check my equipment! Showed shop manager and store manager dirt and oil still on equipment where it would have been at least disturbed if they had even looked at the carb like they said. Tried to charge me over $200 to repair for a $25 part! Refused to refund my $43 even though they obviously were wrong and no where was no refunds on shop deposit posted like it is at Bird's Chain Saw ($25 shop deposit) whom I suggest everyone take their business instead of dealing with these criminals!

Update 8/14/17 - Howard Brothers responded to my Facebook review to tell me that they reviewed my case and that they handled our service repair "by the book." They also suggested that it's common for them to "bend over backwards" for their customers - not that I can see.

We will no longer be patrons of their store and can't in good faith recommend them - not only because of the delivery fee, but the overall lack of customer service.

Went in to look for a dog food container. After 2 minutes in the ladies restroom a male associate knocks on the door. It is obvious when someone is in the restroom because the fan is extremely loud. After walking through, the same associate asks if he can help me find something. I ask if they carry dog food containers. His response was to laugh at me and tell me "No, that's a pet smart item!"

In addition, they didn't tell us when they were dropping the mower off. We happened to be home, but the driver delivered the mower to our upper driveway and came to the front door to let us know where it was, when if we had been asked ahead of time, we would have requested the mower be delivered to our boat garage on the other side of the house.

Well, so there you have it. If you use Howard Brothers for repairs to your mowers, expect not to hear from the service department about repairs until they're done, and you can expect them to randomly decide to drop your mower off outside your house. That's their "by the book" policy.

We purchased a brand new Exmark mower from True Value Howard Bros just over 18 months ago (over $3000), and the starter broke. They picked up the mower and had it for over 2 weeks. Never called us - we had to follow up with them about the repairs. Then when it was finally done, they insisted on charging us $60 delivery fee to return our mower. (We live less than 3 miles from the store). This should be charged back to Exmark or covered by Howard Brothers - they shouldn't sell products they don't stand behind.
